Niamh is a second-year PhD student in Sociology at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research interests center on gender, immigration, and medical sociology, with a particular focus on gendered health disparities and the reproductive health restrictions affecting immigrant communities in the United States.
She is currently working on two research projects. She is co-authoring a project examining the role healthcare providers play alongside law enforcement within medical environments. She is also progressing on her master’s thesis, which explores how the racialization of legal status shapes immigrants’ experiences seeking reproductive healthcare and how these processes can infringe upon reproductive justice.
