Sociology Professors Kiara Wyndham, Cynthia Feliciano, Margot Moinester, and Samuel Kye have been named Weidenbaum Center faculty fellows. Faculty are appointed for a 3-year term to research key social issues locally, nationally, and globally.
Assistant Professor of Sociology Margot Moinester co-authored a piece titled, "County sanctuary policies and birthweight among immigrant birthing people across multilevel immigration policy climates in the United States, 2012–2020: a repeat cross-sectional study." Prof. Moinester's research dives deeper into understanding county government's increase of immigrant policy making and the effects on birth weight to foreign-born people.

Professor Chiarello is a medical sociologist and socio-legal scholar whose work explores how cultural forces such as law, politics, and organizational policy shape decision-making in healthcare and the criminal-legal system. Chiarello gave a talk in January 2025 for the Center on her book, "Policing Patients: Treatment and Surveillance on the Frontlines of the Opioid Crisis."
