Marissa Good is a first-year Sociology PhD student at Washington University-St. Louis. Her current research interests include social movements, organizations, and gender and racial inequality, particularly through the analysis of university campus environments and nonprofit organizations.
Marissa earned her B.A. in Sociology, Political Science, and Public Policy as well as a certificate in Social Science Analytics from the University of Iowa in 2023. She then spent two years working at the University of Iowa Women’s Resource and Action Center (WRAC) as a violence prevention educator. Afterwards, she spent a year teaching English to university students in Brussels, Belgium as a Fulbright grantee before beginning the PhD program. In her free time, Marissa enjoys making art, travelling, taking walks in Tower Grove Park, and spending time with her cat, Ginny.
