Asha Marie (she/her) is a 4th year graduate student from South Carolina. She studies collective memory in the (re)construction of community leisure spaces. She is interested in symbolic landscapes, gentrification, and politics of recreation. Her work is rooted in the Deep South and relies on qualitative methods and socio-spatial techniques. Before coming to WashU, she earned a Masters in Public History at Queens University Belfast and was a 2023 George J. Mitchell Scholar.
